Sweet 16

I hope you all had a nice three day weekend. As for me, it seemed more like a week than three days! Usually I love three day weekends but this weekend we were so busy! We celebrated my daughters 16th birthday on Saturday and today my family ran in the Great Aloha Run. Talk about exhausting! But don't get me wrong, it was tons of fun! I'm just glad its over.

So for all those Hello Kitty fans this post is for you. I couldn't get away without making my own daughter her very own Hello Kitty favors for her friends. Since they are a little older I had to make something more age appropriate so I came up with these:

Rockstar Hello Kitty 1-quart paint cans with matching clocks.

I used Fushia Swarovski crystals in place of the missing numbers and on the pails in Hello Kitty's bow.

Placed all the clocks in those cute little Hello Kitty bags you see in the background and filled each paint can with goodies.
The girls loved them!

Here's a picture I took of my daughter (the one holding the baby) and some of her friends while we were setting up.

Happy Sweet 16 baby girl!

Mekayla's 1st Birthday

Wow can you all believe that it's been over a year since I posted pictures of my sister's baby shower!? We just celebrated Mekayla's 1st birthday two weeks ago and I can't believe how fast time flew by! I had been MIA from my blog but with good reason. Besides the car accident, I had been working on this birthday party for the past few months amongst other orders that I had to fill.

Well enough with the chit chat...let's move on to the pictures!

These are the favors that I created. I had to make 240 of them. All the boxes were cut by hand so you can imagine why this took me a while! Each favor was filled with two Ferrero Rocher chocolates and tied off with a lavender ribbon.

These are the centerpieces that we made. Our friends over at Popcorn Express Hawaii made us a special blend of matching pink kettle corn to place in each centerpiece. If you haven't tried their Kettle Corn yet, you are so missing out! Talk about delish!!! We made 24 of these centerpieces but I accidently forgot one at home so I got to keep one for myself after all (LOL!).

Here we have the card box. If you remember my post on my sister's baby shower, I used this same basket to wrap her gift in. She saved it and wanted to use it for her party. I wanted it to match the party theme so I redid it a bit. I just love how Hello Kitty is peeking over the edge of the basket. So cute!

This cupcake tower took me about 5 days to make. I wish I took better pictures of it so that you could see the fine detail but unfortunately with all the running around that day, this is the best I have. I'm hoping my sister has better pictures of it. Each of the four sides has grass, flowers with button centers, butterflies and a picket fence that was popped up with 3 layers of pop tape. Even though we had a full sheet of birthday cake, we used this cupcake tower as the focal point of the dessert table. Oh and no, I didn't bake the cupcakes, we ordered them (LOL!) but I did make a Hello Kitty pick for each cupcake. I was supposed to bake the cupcakes but by then I was so tired I that I ran out of steam! Haha!

Here is my adorable niece Mekayla. She truly enjoyed herself that night and I am so glad. Isn't she a cutie!?

Happy 1st birthday Mekayla!

Thanks for visiting!

Mint Chocolate Chip

This weekend a very special couple from Japan will be tying the knot here on the Hawaiian Islands. The bride picked Mint and Chocolate Chip as her wedding colors and I must say that color combo turned out to be such a beautiful one. Below are the favors I created for her wedding. It's a little hard to see from this photo but the Brown Sugar layer is embossed with a floral pattern.

Here are a couple pictures of her flowers. Aren't they beautiful!?

Last but not least, her bridesmaids dresses. Love it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Another Hello Kitty party

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Just adding this to my collection of Hello Kitty party favors and centerpieces. Had to make this set for a sweet customer named Jen from Hilo. Her daughter is having her 3rd birthday soon and she ordered these from me. I just shipped them out and I hope she likes how they turned out. Sorry the picture isn't a good one but by the time I finished I had to pack them up and ship them off for them to get to her in time. I only had two weeks to make 80 favors and 15 centerpieces. Ususlly two weeks is ample time but not when you have other orders to do at the same time! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your Memorial weekend!

Girl's Day Treats

Okay, as promised here are the Girl's Day treats I made for my daughter's friends. I used the tutorial shown here for the box. This box was so simple to make and it only uses one 8 1/2"x 11" sheet of cardstock! I used the Four Dolls images from Hero Arts again. There are three other girls in this cute set but this little cutie is my favorite!
Here is what the box looks like opened. It's filled with Japanese candy.

I'll be making something different for her teachers so I'll post those tomorrow.

Ciao!

Wedding Bells

Happy Saturday everyone!  No time for a long post today because I'm off to a wedding.  I wanted to upload a few pictures before I left.  Here is the wedding card that I made for the happy couple.  I used the "Cake Topper" set from The Greeting Farm.  I just love this set...but then again, I love everything from The Greeting Farm, can't you tell!  Anyways, I paper pieced almost everything since I didn't feel like coloring.
Here's a close up shot so you can see the dimensions in her hair and flowers, oh and also on Ian's sleeve.
I also offered to make the wedding favors.  These are just simple pillow boxes with the centers die cut.  I added a velum window that was stamped with a little flourish from Papertrey's Boxes, Bags and Tags set.  For the sentiment I used a combination of the Boxes, Bags and Tags set along with Favor It Weddings, also from Papertrey.  Added a gold ring and tied with cocoa organza ribbon.  Just something simple since it was a last minute thing for me.
Here's a close up of the sentiment.  It reads: "Two Hearts One Love".

Well, I'm off!  Have a great evening!

Baby Booties

Hi everyone!  Sorry I have been MIA for a while.  I was sick like a dog and didn't get around to doing much of anything.  For those of you that are waiting for more Valentine's Day projects, I will be uploading more photos within the next couple days.  Anyways, while I was sick I had to work on these darling little baby bootie favors for a baby shower I will be going to on Sunday.  My friend is having a baby girl and that gave me a chance to use a lot of my Basic Grey papers.  I just love the soft vintage look these papers gave to the booties.  I filled each bootie with wrapped assorted Hershey Nuggets.
These were fun to make (I made 40 of em') but it was very time consuming, after seeing the end result, I guess it was well worth it! LOL!

My Sweetie Box

Here's a cute little acetate box with heart flaps.  You can find the template for this box at The Cat's Pajama's.  Box measures 3 1/2" tall (not including the raised flaps) x 2 1/2" wide.  Big enough to fit the entire jumbo box of Strawberry Whoppers!

This box would also be great to use as favors for a wedding all you have to do is change the colors to suit the wedding theme.

In the upcoming days we will have a lot more Valentine's Day items.  I've been creating but haven't had time to take pictures of everything so check back often to see what's new.

Hello Kitty Elf Gift Box / Bag

Okay, so I didn't quite get Hello Kitty out of my system yet, but just take a look at this Hello Kitty in an elf suit....isn't she just the sweetest!?  Well, I'm still trying to create new little treat boxes for Christmas since so many of my customers have children still in grade school and they would like something small to give all of their classmates.  After much thought I came up with this at around 1 o'clock this morning!  (no, it didn't take me all night to make....I was also creating another box that I'll show you in the next post).  Anyways, this box stands 6" tall and is 2" wide.  It's big enough to hold 8 or more of those regular sized candy canes or other small treats or trinkets.

Cocoa packets

I whipped up these little cocoa packets for the craft fair yesterday.  I figured they would make a great little gift for the kids to give their friends for christmas.  Something small and inexpensive but cute enough to show someone you care.  We have more styles available but as usual I only took pictures of Hello Kitty and that sweet little Angel Anya.

Hello Kitty Manicure Cans

I'm so sorry about the awful picture but it's hard to photo anything wrapped in cellophane.  I totally forgot to take pictures of these before wrapping it up.  Anyways, these are our small (pint-sized) paint cans.  The contents include either a Tinkerbell or a Hannah Montanna nail kit with press on nails, nail file, nail jewels, two nail polishes and a lip gloss. (Too bad they didn't have these nail kits in Hello Kitty)  These sold out in no time on saturday but like everything else, I am working on more.  I only made Hello Kitty for the fair but these could be done in another theme if requested.  These make a great gift for that special little girl in your life.

I'm addicted to Pink Poison!

Here's a Christmas tree box ornament made with this adorable Angel Anya stamp from Pink Poison.  I just love all of those Anya girls!  Marie over at Pink Poison was sweet enough to post this picture on her blog.  You rock Marie!  So check out her website and her blog, I bet you'll get addicted to Pink Poison too!

I used Stickles on her halo and wings.  Sorry, most of you already know that I'm not the best photographer. LOL!  Anyways, this box opens up in the back and can be filled with candy or a small gift.

I just received my shipment of Christmas papers from My Minds Eye yesterday and let me tell you, they're awesome.  I'll be coming up with more Christmas stuff over these upcoming days.

Who doesn't love Hello Kitty...

Well, I have to admit I was never a big fan of Hello Kitty.  I was more of a Kero Kero Keroppi kinda girl (since my favorite color WAS green).  But thanks to a friend of mine, I am slowly learning to love her......besides, most of her stuff is PINK and anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love anything PINK!  Anyways, here are my Hello Kitty creations...two gift bags and another type of cupcake holder.  The cupcake holder has an insert inside so that your cupcake wont slide.  This cupcake holder can also be used as a party favor (just omit the insert).
I'll have a lot more of her in the coming days.
